I love nothing more than working with my horses in the arena. Riding, groundwork, long reining, working in hand, lunging or liberty – I love it.
And I know they enjoy coming into the arena as they are always willing and happy to do so, and often reluctant to leave, but I also know that it is good for them to have a change of scene.
So we also go hacking very often.
A lovely woodland track ride with my daughters Rosie and Florence on Storm and Dragon. Nice for a canter!
Admiring the funny Alpaca with Fox
A soggy ride along the lanes in the rain with Uralita and Whisper.
A nice sunny spring day for a happy hack around the village
I think it is so much more enriching for the horse to take them out and about and having a change from working in the arena.
Have some fun and go hacking! Variety is the Spice Of Life!
