Progress is sometimes hard to recognise.

If improvements in training are really worth having they must be carefully built on solid, firm foundations of trust, connection and understanding and this takes time, so progress will be slow, steady and gradual.

Individual training sessions may even look boring, as the improvements of connection, understanding, balance and suppleness are made inch by inch and cannot be rushed without force.

We should always try to live in the “now” and ride the horses we have today, but looking back at where you were in the past is a good measure of success.
